comparing butterflies and moths

The project is complete

I had fun making the voice thread, at first i didn't want to record myself talking because i was shy but it was not so bad. I like how the voice thread came out and i want to share it with my class when i get to school. I even liked making the life cycle chart and compare and contrast chart, then we took pictures so we could use it on the voice thread. This was a fun project

Friday we met and this time we talked and researched two stages. The chrysalis and cocoon stage for the butterfly and moth, and the adult stage the butterfly and the moth. its really cool how the internet has so much information about butterflies and moths. we also looked at some of the things that the butterflies have different from the moths and some of the things they are similar. like compare and contrast.

the second time we met together we talked about the second stage of the life cycle for the butterfly and the moth. i had to research on the computer the larva stage. it took me about an hour to look for information about the larva stage. i didn't mind it taking such a long time because i like reading the information i found, some cool websites with pretty pictures.

Session 1

Im learning about the differences in butterflies and moths. We are also looking at the things that butterflies and moths have in common. Denise asked me questions like what do i already know and what do i want to learn. I dont really know alot about moths just that they are ugly and fat. She called the chart a KWL chart. I have never seen one before.Then after we typed in the boxes on her chart she told me some websites to look at and research some information about butterflies and moths. The first thing we researched and learned about was the egg stage.
